TO REACH OUR GOAL WE NEED YOUR HELP!

The cost of creating this opportunity for the community is approximately $45,000. More than half of that goes toward the purchase of 1500 high quality empty backpacks. The rest goes toward equipment rental, printing, publicity, insurance, t-shirts, food and beverage for its 1500 participants. In addition, an estimated $37,500 will be spent this year by students, families and friends on the purchase of new school supplies to fill the 1500 empty backpacks (approx. $25/ea.).

With public schools hemorrhaging from budget cuts, it’s extremely difficult to design an event that requires hundreds of parent volunteers to make extraordinary contributions of time and money to benefit children outside of their own school. To be successful, the Third Street Olympic Games must inspire area businesses (large and small) to make cash and/or in-kind donations that underwrite the cost of the event and raise additional money for Third Street Elementary. This makes it possible for the students and families to focus their time and resources on helping those in need outside of their school.  And when that happens, everybody wins!

·       TSOG sponsors are encouraged to have a presence at the event, hang banners, pass out information and offer special promotions to event participants.
